Police clamp down on vehicle crime
GREATER Manchester Police are warning motorists to remove all valuable items from their cars following an increase in vehicle crime.
Withington, Didsbury and Ladybarn are among the worst affected areas.
Between January 6 and February 6, 46 cars were broken into and in 40 per cent of these cases,
items such as sat navs, handbags and coats had been left on display.
Police have set up patrols in hot spots but maintain their pleas for the public to help make life harder
for these thieves by ensuring their vehicles are secure and with no valuables on display.
PCSO Gary Logan from the Didsbury Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “We know that thieves walk
around looking into cars so you can greatly reduce the chance of having your car broken into by
removing temptation.”
