MANCHESTER’s big guns are awaiting their fate in the Champions League draw, but when is the draw and who are their possible rivals?

The UEFA Champions League draw for the last 16 will take place on Monday December 11 at 11:00 GMT at the UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland.

Pots will be split between teams that came top of their group and teams that were runners up.

Teams cannot be drawn against teams from their own nation or teams that were in their group in the last round.

City and United will play their first leg matches away in February and the second leg matches at home in March, as they both finished top of their respective groups.

But who could United and City draw?

Both clubs have similar potential rivals as they both topped their particular groups.

Statistically, due to the nature of the draw rules, both sides have an 18.33 per cent chance of drawing Real Madrid, Sevilla and Juventus.

They also have a 13.84 per cent chance of drawing Bayern Munich or FC Porto.

There is only one difference between United and City’s possible rivals as the blue side of Manchester have a 15.31 per cent chance of drawing FC Basel, while the red side have a 15.31 per cent chance of taking on Shakthar Donetsk.

Elsewhere in England, Chelsea have a massive 43.75 per cent chance of drawing one of the competition favourites, FC Barcelona.

Liverpool are most likely to draw Juventus or Real Madrid while Tottenham Hotspur see Juventus and Sevilla as their most probable rivals.

For the first time in Champions League history, five English sides have qualified for the second stage of the competition, and Monday’s draw could see some mouthwatering ties for fans and players alike.
